Emaar Properties is the most globally recognised developer in Dubai — and the company behind the city's defining landmarks. Founded in 1997 by Emirati businessman Mohamed Alabbar and listed on the Dubai Financial Market since 2000, Emaar grew from a government-backed developer into one of the world's most valuable real estate companies, with the Government of Dubai still a major shareholder.
