About Majan
Majan is a freehold mixed-use district in Dubailand. It was launched in November 2006 by Mizin, a developer set up by Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding, as a 16.5 million sq ft project. Rather than building everything itself, Mizin sold plots to investors who would develop towers to its design guidelines. New buildings continue to come from a range of private developers, including Samana, Binghatti and ADE Properties.
Khaleej Times reported at launch that the plan allocated about 32% of the land to residential use, 44% to retail and entertainment and 24% to commercial, with around 150 towers envisaged. Reports at the time placed Majan beside Emirates Road, the route renamed Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in 2013, opposite City of Arabia and near Global Village. Al Barari is a neighbouring community.
Samana describes Majan as lying between Al Khail Road (E44) and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), with Global Village, IMG Worlds of Adventure and Dubai Miracle Garden among the nearby attractions. Binghatti notes that Majan has no Metro station of its own and that RTA bus coverage is limited, so most residents get around by car, taxi or ride-hailing apps.
Binghatti describes Majan as a low- to mid-rise community with wide, tree-lined streets and names Majan Park, Majan Central Park and Majan Active Park among its green spaces.
