About Dubai Maritime City
Dubai Maritime City is a man-made peninsula developed by DP World as a purpose-built maritime hub. The Government of Dubai Media Office describes it as a 249-hectare waterfront platform providing shipbuilding and repair services for luxury yachts and commercial vessels, alongside industrial and commercial facilities. Upgraded ship lifts and cradles now handle vessels of up to 6,000 tonnes, and the Media Office reports that annual ship-handling capacity has risen to 1,000 vessels.
DP World is developing the district in phases. Phase I covers residential and commercial development, with infrastructure along Sheikh Rashid Road, which DP World describes as the main artery serving plots on the seaside corniche. An Industrial Precinct and a Commercial Precinct form the later phases. In 2022 DP World announced further infrastructure works to integrate the peninsula with the neighbouring Mina Rashid area, which includes the QE2 hotel, P&O Marinas and Marina Cubes.
Gulf News has described Dubai Maritime City as one of Dubai's early freehold designated areas. Homes here are high-rise apartments, and several towers are still under construction. Deyaar's Mar Casa, a 52-storey tower launched in 2023, offers studios and one- to three-bedroom apartments, with Khaleej Times also reporting penthouses. Deyaar lists swimming pools, a fitness centre, paddle tennis, a yoga area, barbecue spaces, terraces and gardens among the amenities.
Dubai Maritime City still combines working shipyards with residential plots that are being built out. Official sources do not list schools, clinics or a Metro station within the district, so residents should expect to rely on facilities in surrounding neighbourhoods. Before buying or renting, confirm whether the building is complete, which services are already running, and how close the unit sits to the industrial side of the peninsula.

Why Invest in Dubai Maritime City?
Dubai Maritime City may appeal if you want a sea-facing apartment close to Mina Rashid and the older parts of the city, or if you work in the maritime sector. With several towers still under construction, off-plan buyers should check the developer's escrow registration, the latest construction progress and the handover terms before committing.
We do not predict where prices will go and we do not promise any level of rental income. A sound check is to compare the asking price with rents achieved in completed buildings nearby, the building's service charges and one-off costs such as the DLD transfer fee. Direct Deal UAE's RERA-licensed team (ORN 43954) can arrange viewings and guide you through transfer. Call or WhatsApp +971 58 114 4230.

Yes, in part. The peninsula hosts ship repair and shipbuilding facilities, with capacity to handle up to 1,000 vessels a year after recent upgrades. Residential towers sit in a separate phase along the corniche, but tenants and buyers should visit at different times of day to judge activity nearby.
